Dr. Tamara Oesterling is a native Texan, and attended Texas A&M University. After completion of her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University in 1995, she moved to Kansas City. There she served as the Director of Veterinary Services and primary surgeon for the largest no-kill shelter in the city. Dr. Oesterling continues to provide assistance to lost and abandoned animals through donations of time and services.
Dr. Oesterling’s professional experience also includes three years of Veterinary Hospital Management, four years in Feline Practice, and three years in pharmaceutical research and development for Pfizer Animal Health.
She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Texas Veterinary Medical
Association, the Association of Shelter Veterinarians, the American Association of Feline
Practitioners, and the Advisory Council for the Hill Country Animal League. She is also veterinary
accredited with the USDA. Dr. Oesterling has been a guest lecturer for the American College of
Veterinary Pharmacists.
